OK, I'm back to try and sort this out again.

    Checked through this thread:

http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=324392 (brief history of bios revisions)

and thought I'd ask you all for your opinions.

    I can either run:
A11 with nVidia drivers 174.31 or
    A15 with nVidia drivers 185.68

Supposedly 185.68 have very cool thermals (according to other posts on this forum), but will NOT run with A11 - they cause the fan to cycle rev speeds constantly.

A11 seems to keep the fan running at far lower speeds and turns it on far later than A15 does AND with the A11/174.31 configuration, the laptop actually seems cooler if this is possible. However, there are conflicting reports... so am I imagining things? is the fan control actually the same between A11/A15?

Do I need A15 and/or the new drivers? is it worth upgrading?

my laptop has always run cool, so I'd just rather turn the blasted fan off. Would it be ok to flash back to A09 or A10 if there's no difference between A11/A15 (or is A10 truly a lemon)?

I've already had one motherboard failure, btw, and it's been replaced.
