    hi folks,

i just started using hdmi out on my l502x onto a Sony Bravia FHD TV 40". it seems to be working ok, but which graphics is powering the HDMI? integrated intel or nvidia 525?

i can run a 1080p movie in powerdvd11 using integrated graphics on the laptop screen and CPU load is ~15% (using realtemp). the fan never comes on whilst like this. when switching to the TV, CPU load goes down to under 10%, but the fan now kicks in fairly regularly. bit confused by this. is it switching to the nvidia card when i switch to hdmi out?

    HDMI is using the NVidia.

ok thanks. so is there any way to tweak it to prevent the fan coming on during hdmi playback? does hdmi have to be the nvidia card or can i force it onto the intel somehow?

at the moment i am using the setting "projector only" in the windows 7 graphics dialogue to send it to the TV. is that the correct way of doing it?

No, you can't force it to the Intel when using HDMI. You can, however switch to the mini displayport and use a miniDP to HDMI cable. Then you'll be using the Intel graphics.

If it works, it's correct :p
