after lurking around here, Techbargains, Gotapex for coupons, finally pulled the trigger tonight.

    L702 XPS17
    i7 2630QM
    8GB ram
NVIDIA GeForce GT 550M 1GB graphics with Optimus
    1080p screen
    Blu-Ray writer
    backlit keyboard
    Creative SoundBlaster X-FI MB 1.2

for total of $1200 including tax and free shipping. that's a a lot of PC for the money compare to Sony and Apple. i was going to wait until the refreshed HP Envy 14, but they're selling them on Amazon already, and other than the updated Sandy Bridge processor, it still doesn't come with Blu-Ray drive and full HD screen. i'm going to use this as my 2nd desktop in my household, so don't really mind the size. i've heard and read people are actually prefer the size of XPS17 over XPS15 because of the larger screen it makes the whole package looks slimmer compare to the 15'' model. the bad thing about this is i have to wait for 2 weeks before they can ship my order  . i just hope something better and cheaper not coming along in these two weeks, lol. one question, where can i see this is a L702 model? it has the 2nd gen i7 processor, so i'm pretty sure it is, but would like to see it on the spec sheet for myself. anyways, i'll be checking in often to ask for tips and suggestions.

    this

Use coupon code: B2X9T6F5PF9DFF for $100 off this specific Dell XPS 17 laptop, expiring 6/26/11, or after just 100 redemptions.

i tested the code and it worked, so i cleared out my shopping cart and reconfigure my system from the beginning, and this time when i get to the price page, there was another coupon code already applied for me, for the same $100 additional off. i tried to use the coupon code i found above but it didn't work this time. anyways, i got my additional $100 off.

Holy fiddlesticks... I think I'm gonna throw up.

I'm calling Dell tomorrow. They can credit me some money or they can expect my new XPS back in their hands by tuesday.

Dont forget about the $500 coupon if you configure $1600 or more. (Start at the cheapest model for the best savings).
