    the dvd drive seems to have very extreme loud sounds when a disc is put in...

    my desktop's slot drive was never that loud, but then it wasnt a compact drive...

    okay, thanks...

    on another note, idle GPU temperature was 70deg according to HWMonitor.... :(

    forcing the fans to run at full speed makes it drop to 60+.....

    As you can see, your computer's temperatures are what most people have. The 8400M GS in the M1330 tends to run hot.

    i used I8kfanGUI to force fans at full speed, but somehow I8kfanGUI doesn't see my GPU temps

    Yeah, it does sound like a cat is dying everytime you stick a CD in. I noticed Teac were slightly quieter than most others.
