I have been using my m1330 for 1.5 years, and i have 3 years completeCare(or completeCover or completeGuard whatever). and i got only motherboard replaced.

but till today, i finally know that completeCover is not international... tI bought the notebook in HongKong, and now in Mexico they said they only give normal next business support :( (accidental damage or liquid spill is not covered)

but why?? is that means that there is a chance in HongKong my notebook will accidentally droped and now in other country it won't be dropped accidentally ??

    that's ridiculous :S

If you drop it in another country, you`ll have to take it to Hong Kong, yep.
CC is not international, just the standard part of the warranty.

It's not even valid in every state in the US, due to insurance law.

Complete Care warranty is a product that is sold in Mexico. If you want to take advantage of this you will need to submit a transfer of ownership from your address in Hong Kong to your address in Mexico. This will take a couple of days to weeks, and your Complete Care coverage will then transfer to Mexico. The warranty service that they offered you (i.e. the NBD warranty), is the standard Dell international warranty that you can use while travelling, and it is meant to only be a stop gap (i.e. travelling to a country while on business) and not meant to be your actual warranty contract when you move from the address where your had the system delivered. That being said, Complete Care does become tricky, because as others have mentioned, there are laws that prohibit its sale in certain countries and states within the US.

Yes - the Complete Care is regional. The HK policy probably covers you through most of Asia but not Europe or the Americas. (I suspect it may be underwritten by different insurance companies on a regional basis - or perhaps they just administer it regionally - perhaps varying the price of new machines depending on the cost of providing the cover in that region).

Here's my experience... I bought my laptop from India and complete care works everywhere for me.... have tried it in Korea, Switzerland and the USA... so it practically covers three continents. They did tell me to do a warranty transfer for the states, but I told them I'm there for only a week or so and they didn't pursue further. But then i've an OCD regarding my lappy. Any unwarranted sound, abnormal temps, any fault.... and the CompleteCare receives a call..... :)
