hey guys, i'm having a problem connecting with my router. I just got a linksys capable of wireless n, however I have about 4 other computers, phones, and a ps3 that connect with wireless g. Now when none of the other defices are connected, my xps 13 connects no problems, but as soon as one of the other devices connects I lose my connection and can't get it back. It seems that the router defaults back to g for the other devices. I'm wondering if there is any way to configure my card so that it will connect with wireless g instead. The funny thing is that my computer can still see the network and is connected, but has only local access and no internet access.

It'd probably be a good idea to set your router to G-Only mode.

Otherwise, if you go into the device manager, and look under network adapters, find your wireless adapter, double click on it, and in the advanced tab, try finding an option to manually set the type of 802.11 that the card should use.

My laptop doesn't have a setting like that, which is why I recommend just logging into your router and changing the wireless type to "only g" instead of whatever it is set to, which might be "b/g and n" or "g and n" or something.

I'd say doing it through the router is your better option, as when ive switched my network card to only g i had both speed and disconnecting issues.
