seeing that i can get that deal for around $1500 after tax new ($1200 basic system, $100 upgrade for battery, lets give $50 for the printer, 7% tax,) ... i would say $1000

think u might get maybe $1200 from fleabay noobs or craigslist, but beware of scammers

Well, considering Dell still has not confirmed or denied if new systems are being shipped with affected GPUs, I'd have to say $0.00. Make sure you read up on this issue before purchasing a model that Dell has stated may be affected.

Not trying to start a long debate here - just wanted to make sure you are aware of the potential issue with the 1530 and its 8600M GT GPU.

It is hard to say because I wouldn't ever want some of the things on there but if you value all of them I think that system should be about $1185 with that warranty and stuff and then add in the cost of that printer and available coupons so like $1300.

Configure one for $1249 and get it for $999. That's what I'm doing. T8100, 8600M GT, 2gb ram, and 250gb HDD. I'm getting the 1280x800 to save money, and to be able to game at the native resolution.

I think most people would tell you not to get the software HD audio thing. I personally would not want the Dell printer or the 9-cell battery but those are more subjective. I don't spend much time away from outlets so I like the lower cost and less weight and bulk of the 6-cell battery but maybe you spend more time away from outlets. One thing I missed the first time was your Office 2007 which I think their special offer is $89 so that adds a little to my original $1300 estimate and is worth it if you use it. I would also want a Blu-ray drive even though they are pricey right now but again that is a totally subjective item and depends on your needs and wants. I would also not get the extra year of warranty and theft/accident protection with the $70 GC because I don't usually keep computers that long and I don't really have a use for a $70 Dell gift card unless I am buying another computer because I can get a better deal on any accessories elsewhere but once again if you got a good use for the GC and you will be keeping the laptop 4 years you get that extra year of warranty for only about $15 net.

So how much did you pay? If you are able to use EPP I think you should have been able to get all that for about $1400 or less if you used all the available coupons and discounts. It is so hard to read all those Dell option lines I also missed that you had the wireless USB before. I think most people think those are junk.

and with tax it comes to 1527....

i used the EPP 5% coupon, and the 12% mpp b/c of 3/4 yr warranty

are there other coupons u know of that i can stack?

No the only other one I know of is the 4% for using the Dell card. The wireless USB and bluetooth are two different things. Most people get the Bluetooth even if they don't have a use for it right since it is so cheap and if you need it later you don't have to have a little Bluetooth dongle hanging out of your computer. I have never tried one but I have read in a few different places that the wireless USB isn't very good. Actually your item list says wireless USB and Bluetooth on one line. So I don't know what is going on with that. I have never seen a combined option like that listed. If you picked the Bluetooth for $20 that is the same one most people get.

What he said. My total for the same config minus the printer and battery was 1202.27 including tax/env/shipping. The battery was ~118? discounted at EPP, and there was a free printer (after rebate), but not sure if it was that one (didn't need one myself).

Either way, if you have the EPP, you'll not find much better value, and it looks like your config is based on the 1299 EPP system that is floating around.

Those were the reasons I also said I wouldn't have gotten the Dell printer. I have an HP Officejet Pro L7590 that I really like and you can get the cartridges cheap online or Costco or any office store in a pinch.

Yeah, you can even just pay for refills for the ink at Costco, or order one of those do it yourself refill kits.
