This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    hard drive recovery?

    My 1647 hard drive crashed. It's showing up as "system reserve" when I hook it up externally to another computer. On windows, it shows no files. On Ubuntu it shows only a boot folder. I put the hard drive in the freezer and got nothing. Anything else I can do short of sending it off for data recovery?
