    dual boot on 1640

    HI,
    I had XP installed on my dell1640, but a pirate version. I had so many trouble with that software i went and bought a original xp software.
    I messed the booot manger while deleting xp..so i did a full format of the machine and reinstalled vista...and then i partitioned the hard drive...so i can install XP...
    now I instered the XP disc and and restarted my laptop and try booting i from the cd...it starts of fine.. and it gets to a point where it says Windows Will Start Setup or somthing along that line....and then the blue screen of death comes up and i have to restart....any iddea if i am doing anything rong....please help...

    ok i fioxed it..temperorly...i changed the hard drive setting to ATA..but now..every single time i want to load xp i have to change the harddrive seting to ATA and if i want to boot vista i have to change it to the the other option..is there a way i can skip this step....

    use win 7...

    win 7 dosnt come out for another 2 months...and i need to use some design software.. n those dont work on vista...
