    dell uses 2 diferent rgb lcd on studio 1640

    the one on the right is black 1640 with rgb led which i bought in 4/09;
    left is white 1640 with rgb led just arrived this week:
    the hardware id is the same on both lcd: sec5448
    the lcd test from notebookcheck.net shows 270 nit on the one sits at right;
    no test result on the left one, but i guess its about 300 nit.
    its very obvious when you gotta see them side by side, the left is brighter and whiter.

    Yeah heard this before. I wonder which one I got. Without another model nearby, there's no way to know I guess.

    No big deal, they are TOO bright anyway.

    I'm more worried about color accuracy and while balance than brightness too.
