i recently had a problem with my program (premiere pro cs3) so i uninstalled it and then reinstalled it. after restarting my dell, i launched the program to test it and a window appeared saying "the currently installed soundcard driver does not support DirectSound Input. Recording audio is not possible."

that's really weird cuz before i reinstalled premiere pro, i could capture video from my camcorder to my laptop and it did capture the sound.

i can only guess that when premiere pro was uninstalled, it deleted something that is needed.

is anyone here familiar with this issue/problem?

btw, i tried to capture video from my camcorder but my 1330 doesn't even recognize my camcorder when i connect the two.

thanks for any advice you might have ;->

I had a very similar problem with Premiere Pro CS4 on my Latitude, where with the original installation, it would work nicely, but after I reinstalled it, it gave me errors about how there is no supported video capability, when it was working fine before.

The best advice I can give is to install it and then install the Dell audio driver. If that doesn't work, uninstall, reinstall the Dell audio driver, then reinstall Premiere Pro.

thanks for the suggestion; if it helps anyone with a 1330, i went here:

i'm on the road now and don't have the time to test it out fully but i'll do so when i get home and will post my results. thanks again!

ps: it's good to know that others have experienced something similar; not that i'm glad you had to deal with it. when i did a search on the web, apparently others have had similar experiences tho i never came across a post that provided a satisfactory solution....
