As title says can you upgrade the graphics cards on them or will I be stuck with the same GC for life?

Depends. No current laptop has upgradeable graphics, while some old ones can be upgraded...but only to GPUs that were offered at some point in the model's life.

    In other words, not really.

You can upgrade the video cards in the XPS M1730 if Dell provides an upgrade kit. You're stuck with the same video card in the rest.

You only can on the M1730 and it is really pricey ... the rest are soldered onto the motherboard, so no you cant.
