    ? about XPS 1640 Replacement

    After all of the struggling with Dell about the throttling of my 1640, I should

    finally be receiving a replacement system. My question is what should I

    expect as the offer for my replacement? My 1640 had a T9550 @ 2.66, 4 GB

    RAM, 4670, RGBLED, Bluray. I have been browsing and researching the

    offerings for the XPS 17, and it seems like the GT 555 is not quite equivalent.

    I was also wondering which i7 CPU I should try for. Lastly, is there any

    possibility to beg for an Alienware M17?

    I doubt you'd get bumped up to an M17x as they try to keep XPS to XPS (except for M1730/M1710).

    GT555M benchmarks way higher than a 4670 Mobility...

    You can try an Alienware, but you might get an R2 (better IMO than R3).

    If the replacement was approved the new order should show up in about 1 hour under order status under your dell account giving you the specs of what was approved

    Yea I have to wait until Monday for the approval, and I really want to try for an AW system but I will settle for the XPS 17 I guess.
