I ordered my XPS M1530 with only 1GB of RAM so I can upgrade later. Do they have to be installed in matching pairs or is it ok to install only 1 module?
    thanks

no you don't have to match, you can have a 1GB and a 512 module in there

However, I am going to ask if there can 1GB module instead of the two 512 ones they stick in lol ......... I tried this once with the 1520 and got denied after a hour of back in forth with their sales/tech

    Will I lose performance if I install 1 2GB module instead of 2 1GB?
