I have a thin white bar on my laptop's screen. I think it may be an lcd problem or a cable one, not sure but with anyone prior experience thanks. Also, can anyone direct me to any information on extending a warranty that has been expired. I have some stuff I need to fix on it like the LCD....Thoughts Thanks!

It's most likely an LCD issue. See if it shows up on an external display.

Then you will probably have to replace the LCD. Dell should be able to take care of it if you extend the warranty, but I'm not familiar with the process, unfortunately.
