So I decided to press the mediadirect button after turning off the computer to see what would happen... it failed to load (it said due to bitlocker, but I don't have it turned on). Then, pressing the power button would boot up mediadirect because apparently the buttons' mappings are switched due to a bug.

So now I got windows vista 64 bit to work again, but the computer can't detect the second graphics card for some reason. I used to have a 8700m sli working fine but now the device manager can only see one 8700mgt and there is no menu for sli in the nvidia control panel.

In summary, attempting to boot up mediadirect has made windows not recognize the second video card.

    Any help?

Okay, I think I jumped the gun a little. I had to actually turn it off then turn it on by pressing the power button (instead of restarting) before the other card was recognized again.

Anyways, don't press the mediadirect button!
