I cloned the original HDD that came w/ my L702X using Acronis TI Western Digital Edition (available at WD's website for free) because I wanted an easy way to be sure the partitions were aligned for the Advanced Format/4K 750GB Scorpio Black I bought. BTW, I used the bootable CD method.

When testing out the Diagnostics, the pre-boot tests complete fine but when I try to load the diagnostics to test the system (click Test button) some drivers start loading as usual then that stops, the BIOS loads, then Windows loads. No Diagnostics. Anyone think this is fixable? I'd like to run the Diagnostics from the HDD (if needed) because I'm disabled and getting/using/handling a CD can be difficult.

    Thanks

OK, just to update, in case anyone else runs into this, after having a USB HDD disconnected the diagnostics run fine.
