After two years of using my XPS1530, I received an error or reminder message that I need to replace my battery.
It's still working though, but not sure what is the side effect of not replacing the battery immediately.
Do I need to replace my battery if it's still holding more than an hour or so?

I don't think there are any side effects to not replacing your battery, The life span is probably decreasing and that is why you got the message. I would suggest, removing the battery if you are at home, or somewhere plugged in.

Yes, that way you will not be using the battery and it will last longer.

I browse Dell website and Amazon...the price of 6cell battery from Dell is $136 and $50 from Amazon. Any info where's the best online store I can buy new battery for 1530?
Amazon is too cheap, not sure if this will last a year -
I would buy it from dell, as i don't trust Amazon that much(I had a few bad purchases). It is your call. Try talking to a rep on the phone you might be able to drop the price a bit, not sure by how much though.
