I'm trying to connect an HDMI cable from my XPS14 to my external monitor that also has a HDMI input. Do I need to choose a certain setting in the XPS display settings? It keeps saying NO HDMI cable on my external monitor...

This should be easier than it appears. What am I doing wrong?

Never mind- just figured it out-

I guess now I''m wondering how to get my 2nd external monitor involved...
    display port adapter?

Anyone have any experience with this adapter?

For only $5.32 each when QTY 50+ purchased - Mini DisplayPort | Thunderbolt to HDMI Adapter w/ Audio Support | Mini DisplayPort to HDMI / DVI / VGA Adapters

That adapter should just work, DisplayPort is digital just like HDMI.

I also don't think the XPS 14 would support 2 external displays as well as the internal one.

Also please don't bump your thread once every 24 hours...I merged all your posts.

Why wouldn't "the XPS14 support 2 external displays as well as the internal one"?

Display port doesn't use the Nvidia card...which was a good thing because now my Dell LCD is talking to my XPS 17 properly :)

    Not sure I follow you-
It doesn't use the video card... so that's a good thing?
