    Hi,

    Just did a test and the results are very good.
    I installed the nvidia 158.18 drivers which are for the 7900 GS cards and not for the GO 7900 GS on my m1710. I did not use any modified .inf file but just the package that nvidia offers on their driver side.
    When installing I selected to search for a driver and picked the 7900 GS one, so Vista tells me this driver might not support my card...........pressed OK and it installed fine. Card temp at 55 when working in Vista. When gaming the temp rises to about 61 with fan working on 2400.

    Driver works stable sofar, been gaming and no crashes.

    Anyone else tried this?

    Greetings.

    You think those drivers would work with the 7950GTX then?

    Not sure as the 7950 GTX is not in their list of supported cards.

    NVIDIA_G71.DEV_0290.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GTX"
    NVIDIA_G71.DEV_0293.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GX2"
    NVIDIA_G71.DEV_0294.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GX2 "
    NVIDIA_G71.DEV_0295.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT"

    I chose the 7900 GS as I have an GO 7900 GS and I can't find any major difference in the GO (laptop) and the no GO(desktop) card. So far it works it works very stable. Specially in Vista Ultimate itself it work great. Nomore odd screen movement when opening dialog with the glass theme enabled. eg I always got a strange screen movement when opening the "Add gadgets" dialog from the Sidebar in Vista Ultimate.

    Cheers.
