    XPS m1710 adds new HD configuration

    I was configuring a m1710 this morning and noticed they now have a 160gig HD SATA option, it doesnt list the RPM speed though :( ...is it possibly a 7200rpm? Just curious...thanks :)

    EDIT: it seems to be that it has also made its way onto the m1210 as well. Error maybe?

    nope just 5200rpm most prob.... slim chance for 7200rpm.

    It is 5200 rpm, just 5 dollars more expensive than the 100Gig 7200 rpm.

    space density does a decent job of making up for the lower speed though...it'll probably be another year or two before they can get 160GB on a 7200RPM drive though.

    isn't a 160gb drive considerably slower than say an 80gb one of the same speed?

    Its a Western Digital, they just came out with a 160GB and ovously its at 5400 RPM!, just look at the price it should be less then a 100GB at 7200 RPM
