I'm wondering if my fan is working right. I can definitely hear it, and Hardware Monitor has it go up to 4000rpm. However, I cannot feel very much air blowing out the back. Is this your experience as well?

It's typically the same on all laptops, they never feel like they move much air. If your computer is maintaining acceptable temperatures then it's a waste of your time and money to worry about replacing it.

Well, I feel like a total noob. I thought my fan was fairly clean, but today I blew a bunch of compressed air into it and my temperatures came down a fair amount.

I was playing CIV 4 and my GPU got up to 90 degrees (it's the nvidia 8600m gt), but today it was in the 70's.

I'm still considering changing thermal paste, but I wonder if it is worth the risk. I have never applied thermal paste before.

The bottom left part of my computer still feels warm to the touch (but not burning like it was), and GPU idles around 60 degrees.
