    Hi Guys,

I have been experiencing an extreme slow down in my XPS m1330 system after I completed a clean install of Vista Ultimate. The systems specs include the T9500, 4 GB RAM, SATA II SSD 64GB, etc. Initially after reformat and reinstall, everything was fine, however now things have gone down to a crawl. I have already tried system restore to no avail. Also, I tried updating the AHCI driver with the Intel Matrix Manager driver and made sure that AHCI was enabled in the BIOS. This was all set and good to go.

To my shocking surprise, when I ran HD Tune, my HD was reporting transfer rates in the range of 0.4 MB to 4 MB! This compared to 100+ MB/s speeds when I tested it about 2 months ago. Any ideas as to what could be going on here?

    Thanks in advance!

I get a maximum of 53.3 mb/s with my HDD. Is that good or bad?

    Hi Bowlerguy92,

Considering you have a traditional HDD running at 5400 RPM, a ~54 mb average right speed is quite normal. The SSDs however (especially the SLC variety) should show much higher speeds. As I mentioned, I was getting around 100+ MB/s speeds about 2 months ago.
