    Hi,
I installed Vista on my Dell XPS Gen 2.
Everything works fine except I cant turn off the gaming lights.
I don't think QuickSet is available for Vista.

Can somebody help a brother out?

    Thanks in advance
    Rod

I upgraded my M170 to vista too. download the quickset for XP for your model, then right click and install as administrator and it will work.
The only thing that doesnt work after upgrading to vista is the scroll slider on the touchpad.

Would you please tell me what version you are using? I'm trying the latest (Dell QuickSet Release Date 8.29.2006 v.7.1.10, A38). When following your instructions I still get the following the error "This is not a supported system Setup cannot complete."

    I'm runnin M170 Vista 32 Ultimate

    thanks in advance

Ok, I just looked and mine is the same:

    A38 / ver: 7.1.10
the download package file was named: R130907

If I remember correctly, it took a me a couple times installing it, to get it to install. you might even have to install it in safe mode (and right click > install as administrator).

also if you didnt see it, the new touchpad driver works with M170 & vista and lets you use the scroll on the touchpad.
