    Hello,

I have a Dell XPS M1530 with Xp with drivers from Udi.

Nowadays, it seems that the laptop is running quite hot. Was wondering if

    (1) I can download the latest Nvidia drivers from Nvidia site for XP for 8600M GT. Has anyone tried this and does this work well?

    (2) Is there another solution?

I did not make a Nvidia claim earlier as my laptop seemed to be working quite well at the time.

    Thanks

    Hello,

I have XPS M1530 running XP with drivers from Udi.

Has anyone updated successfully their drivers from this pack for XP? The reason I'm asking is because I tried updating Intel wireless driver from Intel site but that driver caused wireless connection to drop intermittently and I had to revert back to the old driver from Udi.

    Thanks,

if your laptop has been getting progressively hotter, it could be due to dust build up inside your laptop. i would buy a can of compressed air, spray out the vents, maybe even open up the laptop and clean out the fan and everything. for the xps 1530, it's pretty easy to open up the computer.

drivers are only semi responsible for the heat. some drivers are known to run hotter than others. if the laptop began running hot after installing a driver, then go back to an older one. also, it wouldn't hurt to use the drivers from the nvidia site/they would work.

oh and make sure you have the latest bios.

I just did this, my T9500 temps were at 80Celcius recently and my Geforce 8400M GS was at around the same temp. I've noticed this started happening recently and today while having the TV hooked up via HDMI it got worse.

I took the laptop appart, vacuumed the fan/vent(removed from laptop itself) and re-pasted the CPU/Graphics GPU.

Now I am looking at CPUID HW monitor, processor is 40 celcius, video card is 57.
