I know there have been problems with this card, and I have been lucky for 2 year. But now the card is starting to fail after only using the laptop for about an hour.

My question is if I call dell would they just replace my video card? Or if I complain more about it would it be possible to get a replacement laptop?

It is unlikely that they will replace the laptop after one failure. Generally, laptop replacements are sent out after a series of hardware failures, or an issue that is not resolved after multiple hardware replacements.

In this case, you'll probably get a motherboard replacement and two more years of life out of the machine.
