    Hello All,

Quick question. I purchased my Dell XPS m1530---AMAZING btw, couldn't be happier. One issue that may or may not be a problem---

As far as I can tell Dell offers 3 sound options for the 1530...
    1 High Definition Audio 2.0
2 Integrated Sound Blaster Audigy HD Software Edition
3 Express Card Sound Blaster X-FI Xtreme Audio Card

I opted for #2, I wiped out vista home, installed vista ultimate (to give it a try...meh) Anyways, It wouldn't take my soundblaster drivers- kept rejecting them, but it did take sigmatel drivers--which makes me ask did I get a sigmatel driver instead of a sound blaster one??? I did hear something a while back about sigmatel being aquired by sound blaster---but thought I'd check here to make sure Dell didn't give me a cheaper card than I paid for.

    Thanks for any help everyone!

The Creative software sits on top of the SigmaTel software. Install SigmaTel, then install the Creative.

This is for option #2 only.

what is the quality of the sound provided by the Integrated Sound Blaster Audigy HD Software Edition? is this card better than a standard laptop sound card?
