I have a Dell XPS M1530 which has been worked on by a Dell tech 3-4 times. Screen replacement, new keyboard, mouse pad and motherboard. The past few months I've been having a problem where the screen would only sometimes turn on. When turning the laptop on I hear everything loading like usually, but the screen stays black/off. I've tried things like holding the power button to completely turn the laptop off and then back on, holding the power button for 10 seconds while the laptop is off without a battery and other simple things. Haven't opened it up. Might be something with a loose cable maybe?? It is just getting really frustrating not being able to use the laptop for a few days then all of a sudden the screen turns back on.

Does it work consistently with an external display? If so, then at least you do know it's a problem with the display, and can try re-seating the relevant cables, etc. If not, if might be a board or GPU issue...

Plugged it into an external display and nothing displayed, no signal. Plus I haven't been able to get the laptop display working in a few weeks.
