Like most people, I got stuck with the grainy Samsung WSXGA+ LCD. My previous laptop was an Inspiron 9100 with a WUXGA. I know WUXGA on a 15.4 screen is not preferable to a lot of people but I work with photography and I like the extra desktop space as well.

I have been looking into getting the LG screen (LP154WE2-TL-B1) to replace my samsung and I stumbled onto this:

    http://smartmicrousa.com/LG_LP154WU1_TLB1.asp

It's the LG Phillips 15.4 WUXGA (LP154WU1-TL-B1). I have the GeForce 8600M GT video card which is capable of handling the upgrade in resolution.

Would anyone be able to tell me if this screen could work in the M1530? At this point, I'm so frustrated with the Samsung I would even be willing to swap screens from my 9100 if that's possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Call Dell Parts and order the XK309. Last time I checked it was in stock and the price is similar to what you found. You can also bargain it down a little with the Dell Sales rep.

If u are within your 21 days, send it back and order it again. They now have this as a screen option:

    Full Hi Definition, glossy widescreen 15.4 inch LCD (1920x1200) & 2.0 M [add $150 or $5/month1]

That part number is for the LG 1680x1050 screen not the WUXGA screen he has listed.

You are correct, I saw he had the WSXGA+ Samsung and didn't notice the LCD in the link was WUXGA.

Well if that panel works in the M1530 that would be a nice upgrade provided he can't return is M1530.
