XPS M1530 Delivery Time (POLL)

Hey guys, just ordered my M1530 on Saturday and was wondering how long it usually takes to get.

 

I ordered on Jan 6th and I'm expecting it on the 30th

 

I ordered mine on friday the 25th and it already says it's in the boxing stage.

 

Ordered the 26th December
Delievred by DHL on the 31st!!!!!!!!

 

Ordered 17th Jan expected 5 Feb

 

I noticed that everyone who ordered the crimson red back has the very long delivery date, maybe they are phasing it out in avor of the product red or a new metallic red.

 

shipping can be extremely quick with Dell.

 

I just ordered my M1530 today and it is in the "In Production" phase. I'll assume that it just means that my payment has cleared.

My preliminary ship date is listed as February 12th and I chose the 3-5 day shipping option. I would love for it to arrive early but a few of my options were listed as delaying the shipment by five days.

I can hardly wait! I absolutely love the discounts I was able to get. Between the instant savings of $619 and the 12% off as a student discount, I saved nearly $850.

What estimated shipping dates were people getting before? Were they fairly close to when it actually did ship or did many systems get sent out earlier?

 

How did you get the 12%? Did you have to call? I saw an "alumni" discount as well, is that 12% too?

 

I went to DellUnleashed.com and signed up for something. I had to use my college email address. I got an email with a link to a site on my college network that let me log in (with my university ID). After logging in, it took me right to the Dell page with the Member Discount Program stuff. I configured my notebook, added it to the cart, and took advantage of a hefty 12% savings.

It was a bit of a pain (clicking through several sites), but it saved me $200-something dollars.

I'm not familiar with the alumni discount, but I'd imagine that it would be decent.

The thing about the student discount was that in order to get the 12% off, the computer had to sell for $1600 (after the $619 savings) and it was required that a 3 year warranty was chosen. I wasn't given any options other than three years with in-home service and I was planning on getting at least three years anyway. There were also 8% discounts and perhaps lower for lesser-valued computers.

I made this sound a lot more complicated than it has to be.

 

Ordered on 1/15 and received on 1/22.

 

It looks like the average time is about 6 - 8 days. I'm hoping to get min on Friday the 1st (ordered on Saturday the 26) my expected ship date is the 11th but I don't think it will take more than 2 weeks.

 

Ordered 3rd Jan and received it on the 8th, despite the ETA being 26th Jan.

 

Kainz, it pleases me to read that some people are getting their M1530s before the estimated date. I hope that I am lucky enough to also fall into that category.

 

ordered 23rd Dec received 4th Jan dell rep also said she'd expedite the order >=(

 

ordered 24 Jan tried to deliver 28 Jan, this seems very fast to built and deliver.... do Dell ship orders that other customers have sent back if they are the same spec???? I hope not..

 

Placed my order on friday, January 25th. Lets see how long this takes =Z


Can you still benefit on those student discounts after its been ordered?

 

I ordered on Saturday the 26th and it got shipprd on Wednesday the 30th and is Expecter to get here on Friday the 1st.

 

I ordered on Sunday the 27th and it shipped Wednesday the 30th. Man I really could use that bad-dog this weekend.. Go Go DHL!!! You can do eet!!!

 

They smurfed something with the credit and canceled the order on the 29th...

So... I had to re order on the 29th so im expecting it next week hopefully.

This time I ordered it over the phone and the expected dev date was feb 10th instead of the 14th like the site says.

 

you should make sure its your laptop that was shipped also though... I got confused at first because it said it would ship the 29th and arrive wednesday but that was really one of the value packs I ordered.

 

Ordered my 1530 on the 25th and it says it should be here on Feb. 1.

 

I placed my order on the evening of Friday Jan 18. It was delivered in the AM on Monday the 28th.

I selected the free standard shipping.

 

Re ordered Tuesday and receiving it Monday.

 

I placed my order Friday morning Feb. 01. My delivery is scheduled for Feb. 08 ... Kinda weird actually, I called and changed the processor specs on the 2nd to a higher spec. It sat in production until the 5th then on the morning of the 6th i got an email telling me it had shipped. Thats a fast turn around time. Is that pretty normal? Tracking it through DHL, estimated arrival - Feb. 08
