I've heard of people having problems upgrading to service pack one on windows vista.

I'll be getting my laptop in a few days and am not sure whether to do this upgrade or not?

I've heard cases of drivers not working with the new Service pack.

    Anyone had any problems?

jus go to this link and see if you have any of the problematic drivers mentioned there.. if u do.. just upgrade that particular driver and then install sp1 via WU...

if you are installing sp1 via the standalone installer, make sure you have chkd to see that you don't have any of the problematic drivers mentioned in above link.

SP1 really doesn't have many problems with newer drivers, it's the old drivers that cause it to be funky.

Since OP is getting laptop, assuming it's coming from Dell, it will most likely come come with SP1 installed. I mean, common, all new computers now will have Vista with SP1.

Under your System Properties you will see "Windows Vista SP1" as opposed to just Windows Vista
