I went with the integrated video card. I dont play games, but Will i still be able to watch movies or anything like that? Will the video card effect my SSd speed or CPU speed?

    Thanks in advance.

It should not hold back any performance for you. It MIGHT if you play high definition movies, but so long as you update to the latest drivers for the Intel GPU you should be okay. I really doubt that will be a problem though.

And no, the GPU does not affect the processor or hard drive or SSD drive performance. The GPU only affects graphics performance...as in 3D graphics and HD movies.

Of course they won't be a problem. People always think integrated graphics are worse than they are. If integrated graphics was going to hold back performance of the computer then intel or whoever wouldn't make them. If they can't even play a simple thing like videos, causing modern laptops to perform like a pentium 1, then they wouldn't exist.

If you're going to just do ordinary computer stuff then you won't have a problem. Integrated graphics only shows its weaknesses when you start using graphics intensive programs. That said, it's still capable of running basic 3D programs and games.

I've played a DVD on a laptop with integrated graphics and it ran perfectly. Sorry but I just don't know why people think integrated graphics is gonna make your computer a laggy unusable thing. They wouldn't be used in computers if they did such a thing.

I believe your card is 8400m. With that card youre able to play games like HAWX on medium-low settings.

The X3100 on my M1330 runs DVDs fine, H.264 fine (at least up to 640/720X480, have not used higher). Unless you have some graphics-intensive app, the Int-graphics will not act to slow anything down.

Very well, thank you for the quick reply. How is the resolution? I usually like my background/screen resolution as high as i can get it, dont like the icons and wording that big.

Mine works just peachy at 1280X800X32 which is max resolution on the M1330. I usually shrink my desktop icons a bit anyway. (ctrl+scroll)

You can play MPEG4-AVC (H.264) content @1920 x 1200 resolution on X3100 graphics, with moderate CPU load as I have shown here:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=271764

However you won't be able to playback real BluRay content. Bandwith requirement is much higher (~ 40MBit/s BluRay vs. 10MBit/s Quicktime 1080p trailers) and the X3100 doesn't support H.264 hardware acceleration (only GM45 of Centrino 2 does and works with recent versions of MPC-HC click).

    X3100 only has MPEG-2 and VC-1 accleration:
