Since I rarely do any games these days, I am thinking about purchasing this M1330.

    SYSTEM COLOR Tuxedo Black
    PROCESSOR Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T5250 (2MB cache/1.5GHz/667Mhz FSB)
OPERATING SYSTEM Genuine Windows Vista™ Home Premium Edition
LCD AND CAMERA Slim and Light LED Display with VGA Webcam
MEMORY 1GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz
HARD DRIVE 120GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM)
INTERNAL OPTICAL DRIVE CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW Drive)
VIDEO CARD Intel® Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100
    WIRELESS CARDS Dell Wireless 1490 802.11a/g Mini-Card
BLUETOOTH AND WIRELESS USB Built-in Bluetooth capability (2.0 EDR)
BATTERY OPTIONS 4 cell Primary Battery and 9 cell additional Lithium Ion Battery
SOUND OPTIONS High Definition Audio 2.0
    FINGERPRINT SCANNER Biometric Fingerprint Reader

Above configuration right now is $1499 - $300 - $100 or $200 gift card. My main concern is the actual text size on 13.3" system. I guess age is finally getting to my eyes. The 700m I have is giving me some stresses to my eyes, and sometimes I get headache if I work on them for some time.

    So the question is...
    How is 13.3" 1200x800 compare to 17" 1440x900?
    Is it about the same?
And I've been reading LED light will save battery life, so how much exactly will it save?

You'll get bigger icons and text sizes on the 1280x800. Higher resolutions gives smaller text, icons, etc. Smaller resolutions give the opposite.

    1280x800 on a 13.3" (~113 dpi) is going to be smaller than 1440x900 on a 17" (~100 dpi).

If you have a Best Buy/Circuit City/etc. near you, go look at the 13.3" notebooks they have on display. Most, if not all, of them should be 1280x800.

Thanks Matt is Pro and Statmo.
I just had another looked at my 700m, and I have concluded that anything less then 15.1" won't do from now on. I gotta watch out for my eyes. Ya know. ;) I guess I got to go look for 15.1" notebook with X3100. Too bad M1530 don't have X3100 version. :(

I spend a lot of time looking at my laptop screen and computer screens in general. I also considered the m1330 but decided against it due to the prolonged periods I spend in front of computers. I went to a dell kiosk to look at one and although it's a clear and wonderful picture coming from the unit, I realized it would be too small to look at for more than 4+ hours regularly. I got to see it side by side with a 15" running the same res and there is a definate difference. I have a 17" which is too big to haul around on long trips so the 15" is my compromise.

I started out with a 700m, and then moved to a m1210 for work. This summer I bought an m1330 for personal use and I was quite surprised by the difference an inch made.

For me, the m1330 is perfect. If the resolution were any higher, it would be a strain for me on the eyes.

Is 15" laptop quite portable to bring into class? the price of 1530 are quite tempting, considering that this system equipped with GeForce 8600. Or should I get 1330 instead? and if I take 1330, should I take LED screen? I heard that it makes the notebook lighter, slimmer, and help maintain the battery life. BUt it is worth the price?

I'm very sensitive to eye strain and I adore the m1330 with the LED backlit LCD.

If you're using MS Word, be sure to try the white text on blue back setting. I find it to be a great eye saver. (It's under options on 2003, you have to do it yourself on 2007.)
