    Dear friends,
I'm in dire need of replacing my Chi Mei N13305-L01 Rev. A4 (Dell# RW483 also listed as GR549) with a better quality LED screen, such as Toshiba LTD133EWDD or Samsung LTN133AT05. Personally, I think the Chi Mei screen was built with a very low quality. In my case, the connections between the invertor PCB and the screen became lose causing the screen to display multicolor stripes. This fact might explain why my Dell XPS M1330 needed an LED screen replacement (despite the fact that I took very good care of it). Upon browsing several discussion boards, I noticed that some people experienced incompatibility(the screen turned black) when replacing a Chi Mei with a Toshiba screen. Honestly I'm worry that swapping a Chi Mei with a Toshiba or Samsung would result in a worst-case cenario in which the laptop seizes to function. Why don't I want to replace the screen with an exact screen? some might ask. Well the answer is I need my laptop for another 3 years, and I don't want to replace the screen again because I know for sure that I won't have the fund for that. For those of you who have some knowledge in this matter, could you please give some insight? To be a little more specific, can I replace my Chi Mei N13305-L01 Rev. A4 with a different brand? Since I'm a student, I don't have the extra money to buy a brand new laptop. Replacing the screen seems to be my only option at this time. I certainly appreaciate all of your advices, so please share!
    Joe

There have been plenty of people who have replaced their CMO screens with others. I have had the Toshiba screen for 4 years now and it has been great, so I would recommend that one if you can find it. (try eBay probably)

Kozzney, thank you for your post. Just to be sure, I could be able to replace the CMO with a Toshiba. Am I correct?
