Hi everyone, not sure if this has been discussed/documented, but I could not find anything via search.

Got XP SP2 and all drivers to install properly (*finally*). Added my Bluetooth hands-free device (PLT 510) yesterday via the Dell provided Bluetooth manager, and all seemed well...

... until I realized Sigmatel Audio hardware failed to start afterwards!

Install of the latest Sigmatel driver from Dell fixed the problem, but it fails to start after rebooth everytime thereafter. Finally, I had to uninstall the bluetooth hands-free device for the issue to go away.

Can anyway duplicate & confirm this issue? Even better, might there be a solution to this? Would be great if I could keep using the hands-free audio with Skype on my shiny new M1330! :D

    Thanks in advance!

Can't help you directly regarding the 1330, but I can tell you that the 355 Bluetooth EDR driver works flawlessly with XP Pro SP2 on my X1530. Installled it today. So you can officially call "bs" on whatever Dell picklehead told you they didn't exist.

Those drivers you posted are for Gateway systems, it's a crapshoot if it's gonna work or not.

Has anyone tried the SigmaTel drivers for the D630? I'm on Vista at the moment, but I might be able to try later on XP.

Uh, it's not a crapshoot. I'm running WinXP SP2 with latest patches/updates installed.

After installing the new Bluetooth WIDCOMM drivers, my Sigmatel driver does NOT crap out anymore like it used to. So, I have confirmed it WORKS.

Feel free to try it or don't bother... no skin off my back. All I know is I went from not being able to use my handsfree bluetooth device at all to using it for Skype nightly now with 0 problems.

can you give me the link for the bluetooth driver?

i've tried every single bluetooth driver made by dell, and a few that's not. i've also had my bluetooth dongle swapped out a few weeks ago (turns out there was nothing wrong with the old one, but dell is nice about that kind of thing)

Dell Wireless 355 Bluetooth Module (Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR): (only if you have it of course)
