I am trying to use my XPS 15 as a HTPC. I have a Denon 590 receiver and an Optoma HD66 projector. When I connect the XPS to the Denon via hdmi I get no video and no audio. I checked all of the simple fixes like using the correct input on the AVR and new hdmi cables. It's configured XPS>hdmi>Denon HCP hdmi input>hdmi out to Optoma HD66.

It's definitely an issue with the XPS. I've tried multiple receivers and had the same issue. When I connect straight to the projector it works. I need to use the AVR via hdmi for HD audio. Has anyone ran into this problem?

I have the Nvidia 420m GPU.

    Thanks.

To make it even more frustrating, it works on my Hitachi plasma TV in my living room through a Pioneer 1020 receiver. I just can't find any reason for this not to work with the projector. My old XPS studio 1640 worked great with the projector through the receiver. Could it be an edid issue?

I am going to try updating the bios tonight to see if that will sort it out.
