Is this combo port supposed to supply enough power to run a 2.5" portable drive with an esata port and a usb port. It does with the portable usb port, but there is no power going to the 2.5" esata port. I thought this PowerShare feature would power a 2.5" esata drive.

    Thanks

Many (most?) eSATA cables do not transmit power, and many (most?) external SATA drive enclosures aren't setup to receive power through the eSATA cable.

So, this may be a limitation of your external drive or cable, rather than with the Dell port.

Right, but the drive enclosure must support that.
