I'm thinking of buying an XPS 17 but the speaker placement really bothers me; seems like kind of a dumb design to put it right under your palms / wrists (though I guess they didn't have space anywhere else). For anyone who owns one, does it affect audio much while using the keyboard or is it not really that big of a deal? I don't really use headphones or external speakers so it may affect my decision.

Also not crazy about the half-height arrow keys, but I guess that's something you'd get used to after a while.

I was bothered about the speaker placement but it's not too bad really. There is plenty of space above the speakers to place your wrists whilst typing and playing games.

If you're playing music, you can hear a difference as your arm moves over the left hand speaker, but that's because the sound coming from them is so damn good :D

My only nitpick is: Why on earth did they place the HDD (SSD) led on the other side of the screen??? Now i can't see it which is annoying so why have one at all? At the front right besides the wifi symbol we have way more space. And there we have enough waste anyway (big 3 touch buttons "WAVES" text)

Same for the speakers they would fin abvoe the keyboard just fine, but now i have there a useless JBL thingy...
