What's it for? Anyone try it yet? Saw it in dell's support stuff, something about CPU's. Sorry, doing it from memory, any ideas? Anybody try it?

I have been running A12 since it was release with no issues.

According to the Dell description the change from A11 is:

"Update CPU m-code support new CPU."

Probably adding support for the new tweaked Sandy Bridge mobile CPUs that just came out.

Thanks, that makes sense I suppose. I really hope they unlock the higher clocked ram speed too, not that there's anything wrong with 1333 or anything.

Can anyone be of more help? Just seeing if anyone noticed any other differences or perhaps has a link to a change log of some sort. I'm sure others will be wondering this too :)

    Thanks,
    Travis :err:

They won't unlock 1600RAM or RAID. They are pushing people to buy those ugly (or at least gaudy and obnoxious) Alienwares for that.

Not to say they won't unlock it eventually, especially once the next gen systems come out. But I understand right now they Alienware needs to eat it's cake too.

What Dell fails to understand is that people will NOT buy an Alienware for features such as RAID or faster RAM. They buy Alienware's for the higher-end processors and video cards.
