    Hey guys,

I m having graphic performance issues for a long time. But only for some specific applications. (i think opengl related).
Mostly on Adobe After Effects. When i switch to opengl rendering. Viewport screen flickers and lags. But it s random. If I use software rendering everything is normal, but slower of course.
I have no problem with DX, performance is nice and normal on games etc.
Another symptom, on browsers(tried ie9, chrome and opera) i experience ridicolus visual lags. Like, when i scroll up or down on page which has some images. If i make a visual google search it s like 4 fps when scrolling or freezes.
I have win7 64bit, and have the latest driver from amd 11.2(also tried dell s final official driver it s even worse).

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Have you tried the Dell Diagnostics disc?

Try piping out to an external display and try to rule out the screen.

After that, try reseatting the RAM/using known good RAM.

No luck. I m pretty sure it's GPU related. System is quite stable besides these graphic glitches.
    Thanks again.

Is it still under Dell warranty and on site service? I would call up Dell and setup an RMA.

Sadly my warranty is over. I m in contact with AMD now. They seem pretty interested. Lets see how it goes.

If this is a recent development, and you are pretty sure nothing software related is causing the problem, I'd recommend cleaning out the dust filters on the bottom of your laptop. If you loosen (they stay attached) the screws from the bottom plate, then just blow out all of the little X's, you'll probably see a cloud of dust. Some people remove the dust filter completely (it just kind of peels off of the inside of the bottom plate), but I like to leave it on, and then just clean it out every month or two.
