I am design engineer and just bought this laptop to upgrade my Precision M90!

Its i7-820, 8Gb Ram with Win7 Ultimate, thinking that my 3D softwares (running on Win XP 64bits on Dell M90) like ProEngineers will work with Win7 Ultimate but WRONG!!

Tried with Virtual Windows XP (with x64 installed) and it's VERY slow and graphic is just so bad! Oracle VM Virtual Box, works better and can only have max 256Mb video! So, I now know that win7ultimate sucks FOR me! So, unless I have full Windows XP 64bits installed and boot from it and not use any 'virtual mode', I will NOT be able to access full 1GB of Video and 8Gb ram that this machine has. I feel like I spent money to go backward and not forward. Dell site does not support drivers for Windows XP 64bits OS either  .

Just splashed out on new 500Gb HDD and wants to DUAL boot with Win7 Ultimate (only 100Gb size) and Windows XP 64bits for the rest of HDD. Can anyone please help me with potential installations issues or how I can get divers for my XPS 1645?

    Many thanks!!
