    Hi guys

I've recently updated my XPS 1640 (with Samsung 256GB SSD, PM800) to Windows 7, and since then I've been getting a stalling/stuttering behaviour.
I've gone over quite a few guide on the net trying to sort it (Superfetch, write cache, etc.), but it's still a problem (very annoying if it happens while watching a film, for example).

Does anyone else have this problem, or better yet a solution?

    Thanks

Also, I don't know if it's relevant, but it's the x64 version of Windows 7.

Does it happen to all movies? Are you running on a disc or ?

It's nothing to do with movies (although it has happened while watching BluRay and also when reading an AVI from the SSD), that was just an example of when it can be particularly annoying. The whole computer stalls for a fraction of a second every now and again. This is accompanied by a hard drive access, which is why I've presumed that the problem is SSD related.

Wow, that's the last problem I would think SSD would give. Are you sure its not your video drivers? Maybe install a later version just for kicks.

Update your SSD firmware if you havn't already, note that doing this formats the SSD so backup first.

dont make excuses not to do the firmware update if you havn't done it. SSDs are unfortunatly not completly maintenance free just yet as its still young tech.
