    XPS 16 Battery Pricing

    Has anyone gotten any info on exactly whats up with the 9-cell battery pricing?

    My friend ordered his XPS 16 in early July and his setup cost him an extra $80-90 for his 9-cell upgrade.

    Now all of a sudden in August, $180 for the exact same battery?

    Did something substantially change with the battery? (Like improved battery life)

    You're paying $180 to buy the 9-cell battery IN ADDITION to the 6-cell, rather than $90 to REPLACE the 6-cell with the 9-cell.

    Well my friend recieved his XPS w/ 6-cell + 9-cell on the side. Which is why i am wondering.

    His order was a XPS 16 etc... with a 6-cell battery for like $1060ish. Then additional order on the side of a 9-cell for another $80-90.

    So I called up Dell and asked them about that, and the sales rep basically lied to my face saying it's $180 now because they are using Lithium-Ion battery? I called up my friend and his 9-cell says Lithium-Ion on the invoice + the battery itself.

    correct, my 9-cell battery was $80 more when I purchased back in mid-July. That was in addition to the 6-cell already there.
