    Greetings NBR user,
Finally i got my xps 1530 yesterday after 3 weeks of waiting. It started perfectely with no problems. when I was running dvd it hanged suddenly, so i rebooted it with dvd still inside. Now problems starts, as soon as i switches power button all media button glows(which is ok) then optical drive make some noise and it hangs there!!! After rebooting 2-3 times by holding power button for 10 sec dvd came out from drive but still it hangs there. so as soon as i reboots it all media button glows then optical drive make some noise and it hangs there :(
can somebody provide some solution for this problem, Till now i am not able to start my notebook :(
    thanks

Try booting with the Microsoft Vista installation CD that came with your notebook. This *should* allow you to boot and then there is an option to repair boot errors. It doesn't always work though, I had a problem with Vista getting corrupted and ended up needing a format/re-install.

Also check your bios options for boot priorites, make sure your harddrive is listed. Also when you try to boot with the CD you might need to set DVD boot priority higher than harddrive.

    Good luck.

But problem is i am not able to reach up to bios window. there is nothing on the screen!!
as i already said that as soon as i press power on button optical drive make click noise and computer just hangs there, no response nothing. but if i put cd or dvd in drive it takes it and then after rebooting it still hangs, although cd is spinning in side and it will come out after 2 -3 rebooting. so power is there but some how that optical drive preventing booting of notebook.
may be i should run dell diagonstic check

    guess what guys!!
problem is solved by itself, may be it requires more patience, last night it started normally, i also run the diagnostic check and it was ok, i run especially the extended check for optical drive and it was ok. now every thing is just working fine,
i wonder what was the problem, may be improper shutdown.
overall i like the design and it looks stunning in red :) build is good with no manufacturing defect, fit and finishing of joints is also good, the only thing i noticed is that there is minute gap above web cam and lid(may be it is this way because it is uniform across lid) above all it screen is really gorgeous it bright and uni formally backlit with zero dead pixel till know, i think it is lg one, somthing like LPLF00 i dont remember exactly
