    Hi,

I'm searching for a new laptop to buy and I'm currently reading a lot of threads about those XPS.

I would like to know if the heat level is lower or higher on the 1330 versus the 1530 ?

If I buy a 1330 or a 1530, I'll probably take a 24" inches monitor for working at home, could someone tell me if the GPU produce more heat when plugged to an external display ?

If yes, is it due to the fact that it display on two different screens ?

If the later is true, could disabling the laptop's display resolve the heat issue when using an external display.

Sorry for my bad English. Hope it's clear enough.

The heat will be higher on the M1330 because it is more compact and not as good thermal dissipation. It will produce a bit more heat while running two monitors but not enough to make a big deal about. There should be some new models coming out shortly if you can wait.

Does dell removes old models availability when they release their new models ?

I ask this because Win XP compatibility is a requirement for me, and if it's gone with new models I'll miss the old one.

You can always buy a refurbished one with Win XP but it will obviously be hit and miss depending on availability.
