I can hook up a Blackberry fine for example, but when I plug in ANY iPhone (I've tried multiple, and multiple USB cables), nothing happens. No charging indication even, it's like it's NOT connected at all. I though maybe this had something to do with my Autoplay settings but no luck (and that wouldn't stop the device from at least charging anyway). Any ideas? Thanks.

SOLVED: This seems ridiculous, but I had to UNINSTALL "Apple Mobile Device Support". As soon as that finished, the PC Immediately detected by iPhone 4 and started charging and I was able to sync with iTunes. So you apparently don't need to have mobile device support, to support the mobile device. I just hope this doesn't get re-installed with the next iTunes update, which will probably be tomorrow or something at the rate they release these things, and then render my iPhone unable to do anything when connected again.

The Apple mobile device service MUST be running for your computer to "see" the iphone in itunes. It is not required to be running to charge your device without itunes installed. That is a different problem you may have fixed in the process. Go to msconfig > services > advanced and see if the apple mobile device is there and running. And yes, apple mobile device will be installed every time a new version of itunes is installed, because it is required for your phone.
