I have the XPS 15 9550 with 1tb hdd accelerated by 32gb cache using Intel Rapid Storage Technology and I am in a bit of a predicament.

One day it was working fine I restarted my PC and got a no bootable devices error (Windows would not boot)

Thought boot files got corrupted somehow tried repairing windows using a boot able USB drive but it didn't work

I then checked my 2 drives on the Intel rapid storage driver in bios and made a mistake by separating the raid array linking the ssd and hdd and setting them to non raid disks

Now when I insert a USB stick to boot from it doesn't detect my windows installation

I am sure how to fix this short of reformatting both disks and reinstalling windows which will be a massive headache as I have quite a lot of files and programs installed that I don't want to lose.

Any help would be deeply appreciated
    Cheers

I did a bit of a ninja edit above with more info, you can try creating a new boot path, it should be like \EFI\BOOT\BOOTX64.EFI

Those drivers can go on the USB with windows, if it ask for additional drivers when booting you can point it to the raid driver you extracted.

But I get the feeling you have broken a broken install so you may be wasting your time, I would take this to the windows section of the forum as my method of getting out of sh!t is to use the daily backup I make with macrium.

See if you can repair it but if not see if you can install to the hard drive without formatting to save any data?

I made a mistake of breaking the RAID 0 array with the 32GB cache drive in intel rapid storage technology driver and unraiding the disks. I do not know what this does to the data whether it completely corrupts it or just makes it inaccesible I see no option to re enable the raid which is the problem..

You can only enable raid within windows as you activate the cache drive using the intel RST software, the data will still be there if you break the array hence me saying as a last resort install new windows without formatting. You may lose a bit of data that was due to be written but the chance is slim.

Unfortunately I had to reinstall windows and lose all my files in the process. I have just about had it with the Intel rapid storage tech and will probably do a fresh windows install on a ssd pulled from my desktop. Oh well at least I won't have to deal with noisy hard drives anymore
