    Greetings,

As above, theoretically the M.2 PCIe SSD slot also support M.2 SATA SSD - Has anyone got M.2 SATA SSD successfully installed? The nvme 950 pro cost way too much at the moment, i'm looking to install 1TB M.2 sata ssd as my VMs are taking up quite a fair bit of storage space

    I have a Transcend MTS800 512GB M2 SATA3 running just fine on my XPS 15 9550.
I can't tell the speed difference with the original 256GB NVMe Samsung PM951.
Benchmark results is ~430Mbps write and ~500Mbps read, fast enough for my use

NVMe is an extra BIOS module that takes over from the Sata driver to make use of the PCIe port it is plugged into, be it a dedicated PCIe or the m.2 version.
By default it looks for sata and NVMe takes over if supported.

So any sata m.2 will work :)
