My XPS 9530 has suddenly started giving me a bit of trouble:

    1. Randomly while booting up it will give a power supply error.
.2. About a minute after booting the system will freeze completely. Before resuming as normal During the freeze one gets a strange Buzzzzzzzzzzz then every thing is just fine.
    3. USB ports randomly lose connection to drives and devices. All four ports are behaving this way. Some will not even recognise devices recognised on other ports.

What is happening? Have had zero trouble before this.

1, the power supply error seems to be a bug as mine used to do it, but it could be a defective cable/socket.
2, try booting into safe mode and see if the problem is still there.3
3, need to fix #2 before troubleshooting that but the event viewer may have some clues.

I've always had problems with random disconnects with the USB drives and particularly with mobile phones. And it wasn't just me - there was a long discussion about it in the owners thread. To my knowledge, the only solution was to buy a USB hub, which is what I did.

However, I've never had problems with it disconnecting my hub nor my mouse, so it sounds like your problem is more serious and therefore something different.

Take a stick of ram out, test it, if it still does it swap the ram, then SSD, then motherboard.

Nice one, does the service tag in the BIOS match the one on the base plate?
