I would like to use an external monitor with my L501X in place of the internal display, probably using the DisplayPort connection. The internal display, while great for graphics, is just too small for me to read comfortably for programming. And, if I enlarge the text, I don't see enough on the screen, so want a larger display.

I am considering the Dell U2412M, which has 1920x1200 resolution.

Will the XPS 14 (L501X) support that resolution via DisplayPort?

    Thanks!

FWIW, I have the L502x at 1920x1200 attached via mini-DisplayPort to the Dell 2707WFP without issue. I'm connecting using this cable...
For only $7.88 each when QTY 50+ purchased - 6ft 32AWG Mini DisplayPort to DVI Cable - White | Mini DisplayPort to DVI Cables

Mini-DisplayPort should support max res of 2560x1600, but I have no way to test that.
